AfCFTA Digital Innovation Challenge 2026
Eligibility
- African citizenship or residency, from an African Union Member State
- Aged between 18 and 35
- An operational digital solution addressing barriers to cross-border trade
- Solution should be in operational to scaling phase, not just an early idea
Who is not eligible: applicants outside Africa, and purely conceptual ideas with no operational solution yet.
What you need to apply
- A description of your digital solution
- Supporting materials such as a demo, pitch deck or prototype
- Completed application form
Position yourself
If your idea is not fully built yet, this specific challenge wants operational solutions, so use the time before the next cycle to build a working version, even a simple one, rather than applying with a concept alone.
What to do if you are not eligible
If you are not African, look for global digital innovation challenges instead. If your solution is still at idea stage, build a prototype before the next cycle.
Benefits
- Mentorship and capacity building on digital trade
- Investor exposure and business development support
- Top 5 winners receive formal recognition and engagement with AfCFTA leadership
How to apply
- Visit the official AfCFTA announcement page
